The original Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church was erected in the early 30's. Due to membership growth and outreach activities a second edifice was started in the latter part of 1979 and was completed in the early part of 1980. Mt. Calvary is pastored by Rev. Raphael D. Montgomery and has a membership of about 500.

For 80 years, the church has stood as a beacon of light in the Baytown Community. Countless souls have been saved and lives have been enriched. On December 28, 2021, our church home collapsed and is now in ruins as we prepare to rebuild. While our light is now dimmer, it still burns.
